The 7th "MPA/DHU/TIFFCOM Masterclass Seminar and Pitching Contest" was co-hosted by MPA (Motion Picture Association) representing the six major film studios in the U.S., DHU (Digital Hollywood University) and TIFFCOM to support young filmmakers looking to take their first steps into the international arena.
In the first session, a master class seminar was held featuring Alex Boden, a renowned producer active across multiple regions who specializes in international co-productions. Boden, known for his work on various globally recognized productions, including the crime drama series Tokyo Vice, starring Ansel Elgort and Ken Watanabe, shared valuable insights with attendees.
The second session consisted of a pitching contest. Five young filmmakers selected from a public call for entries and two top performers from the 2024 KAFA-TUA Collaboration Film Development Workshop—a joint project development workshop for art universities in Japan and Korea, organized by the Agency for Cultural Affairs—competed in the contest. Following the award recipients were announced as follows.
